Wonderful history, this
Woody was originally sold new & garaged in Santa Barbara,
California until the late '60's when it was purchased by
well-known early Ford collector Nick M. from Solvang,
California. During this time, it was reportedly
reconditioned, rebuilding the flathead V8, re-upholstering
the original interior and re-painting it an incorrect
post-war color, Maize Yellow. David Cassidy pop star &
Partridge Family cast member purchased the Woody in
March of 1977 and enjoyed it until 1984. Subsequent
California owners from 1984 to 1994 include Curtis B.,
Morris B., Danny W. & Tom R...
Purchased by the current
owner in 1994, under his careful 28-year ownership,
it was enjoyed for many years at the annual So-Cal
Wave-Crest Woody events, local beach car shows & more
Hollywood notoriety, including several scenes in the Movie
"Pearl Harbor". All of this before receiving a very
respectful professional body-off frame restoration,
original wood preservation, correct Cloudmist-Gray body
refinish & subtle '50's period style power-train upgrades.
Upon it's completion in 2009, it received the very
prestigious, Wavecrest "Heiden's Woodworking Award".
The owner notes, "I have no hesitation in representing the
car as solid, well done & well preserved", we second that
statement...
