Based on history provided by the current private collection owner and our research, this modified Mustang Motorcycle is believed to be a late 50's Pony Model 4 hard-tail version, one that has received an extensive show quality "customized-restoration". It has been restored with a factory-type cosmetic presence and creatively re-powered with a "Legendary" 1963 Triumph TR6SS 650cc engine, updated hydraulic front-Disc brake, custom split-exhaust and other visible modifications... Engine ID # TR6SS D172211: 1963 Triumph 649cc air-cooled parallel-twin, overhead-valve (OHV). TR6SS Pre-Fix: "TR6" Indicates the Triumph 650cc parallel-twin engine family, specifically the Trophy series, "SS" Denotes a variant introduced in 1962 and produced through 1966. The "SS" stands for “Special Sports” or “Super Sports. D172211 Suffix: "D" Typically indicates the production year and month for Triumph engines starting in 1963, when unit construction was introduced. The “D” corresponds to the 1963 model year, with production running from August 1962 to July 1963. "172211" is the sequential serial number within the 1963 production run. Condition: Seasoned Customization, Excellent Cosmetic Condition. Known as operational prior to long-term indoor static display, not currently operational.
